The Texas Combined Heat and Power Initiative (TXCHPI) is a non-profit association of business interests that supports clean, energy-efficient, CHP technology applications in industrial, commercial and institutional settings. TXCHPI champions CHP as the most effective, economical and environmentally sensible energy option for Texas. TXCHPI is an industry-led 501(c)(6) advocacy group committed to promoting and implementing combined heat and power in the State of Texas. The Texas CHP Initiative vision is full deployment of CHP technologies throughout Texas. Effective, economic application of CHP technologies will improve energy security, increase power reliability, reduce fossil fuel usage, lower energy bills, and protect the environment.

The Texas CHP Initiative was created as an industry-led 501(c)(6) advocacy group so that a group of committed business people could work together to promote and implement CHP in the State of Texas. A Board of Directors addresses the needs of the members and sponsoring corporations. TXCHPI believes that effective, economic application of CHP technologies will improve energy security, increase power reliability, reduce energy usage, lower energy bills, and protect the environment. The objective of TXCHPI is to educate Texans about the benefits of CHP and about the policy changes that will help spread CHP technologies. Working with the Gulf Coast Clean Energy Regional Applications Center, the TXCHPI will advocate the benefits of CHP to state and local governments, medical and educational institutions, commercial and small industrial customers, and public interest groups. The TXCHPI will promote CHP across all market segments to increase awareness of the advantages of considering CHP at the construction phase as well as during renovations and upgrades of existing facilities.
